This Privacy Policy explains how Targeto ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our SMS automation platform and related services. By using Targeto, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Targeto operates an AI-powered SMS automation platform that helps businesses engage customers through intelligent text message conversations. We take privacy seriously and are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our users and their customers. This policy applies to all users of the Targeto platform, including account holders, administrators, and any individuals whose data is processed through our services on behalf of our business customers.
When you register and use our platform, we collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, company name, and phone number, along with billing details processed securely by our payment provider. We also collect the contact lists and customer data you import, message content and campaign configurations you create, and communications you have with our support team. In addition, we automatically collect usage data including features accessed, campaigns created, and messages sent, along with log data such as IP addresses, browser type, operating system, and timestamps, device identifiers, session information, and performance metrics. When you connect third-party tools to your account, we may also receive CRM and integration data imported via API, CSV, or connected integrations.
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Targeto platform and services, to process transactions and send related communications, to power the AI conversation engine and deliver SMS automations on your behalf, and to send service notifications, updates, and security alerts. We also use this information to respond to support requests, monitor and analyze usage trends, detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We work with trusted third-party vendors who assist in operating our platform, including cloud hosting providers, SMS carrier networks, payment processors, and analytics services. These parties are contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it to perform services on our behalf. We may also disclose your information if required by law, regulation, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Targeto, our users, or the public. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and we will notify affected users before any such transfer and give options where required by law.
Targeto uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience on our platform. These include essential cookies necessary for the platform to function correctly, analytics cookies that help us understand how users interact with our platform, and preference cookies that remember your settings. You may control cookie settings through your browser, though disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account closure, we retain data for a period of 90 days to allow for account recovery, then securely delete it unless legal obligations require longer retention. Contact data and message records associated with your campaigns are retained according to your plan settings and applicable regulatory requirements.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit, AES-256 encryption for data at rest, role-based access controls and audit logging, regular security assessments and vulnerability testing, and SOC 2-aligned internal security policies. While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage users to use strong passwords and report any suspected security issues to us immediately.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access a copy of the data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of your data subject to legal obligations, receive your data in a portable machine-readable format, object to certain processing activities, or request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
The Targeto platform is intended for business use only and is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice in the platform prior to the change taking effect. Your continued use of Targeto after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
